Classroom Spotlight - T3 W9 2020

Year 7 - English

Students have been reading the text, Ned Kelly 'Black Snake Daring', and interpreting literature about Australia and Australians. They have responded to comprehension questions and compiled information about characters through a reflective journal. In conclusion, students created an imaginative recount of an event from the text providing a particular point of view.

Year 8 - English

Students have been reading and interpreting a variety of poems and songs, including those that put forward different perspectives on a number of issues. During this time they have analysed text structures and language devices used in each poem to create a particular effect. In conclusion, students took part in a panel discussion to persuade an audience that a song provides an effective social commentary on an issue.


Year 9 - English

Our Year 9 poets have been creating poems that provides a perspective on a social, moral and ethical issue of concern. They then had to justify choices within the poem in a rationale and perform the poem to an audience to influence thoughts and/or actions. 


Year 7 & 8 - Geography

Students have been focusing on ‘Water in the world’, demonstrating an understanding of the geographical processes that influence the characteristics of places. They have described alternative strategies to a geographical challenge and proposed an action in response to a geographical problem, taking into account environmental, economic and social factors. 


Year 9 - History

Students have been investigating the significance of World War 1. They continue to observe and inquire into information from a range of sources to develop a discussion, incorporating historical interpretation about the significance of the Anzac legend and Anzac Day. 


Year 3 & 4 - Design and Technology

Students have been investigating forces and materials to plan a production of making a pinball machine. Following their production, they will then create a games environment set to a theme explaining what makes a fun games environment.
