Life as usual in the kindy prep class has been busy!!! Our kindy’s are getting ready to transition into prep, while our preppies get ready to become grade 1’s (There is much excitement over this). Our kindy students have been coming to school for three days a week and are slowly spending more time integrating with the preps in different subject areas.
The kindy students have been busy creating not one but two books this semester. Our first book is a cooking book where students are sharing their favourite foods that they cook at home. We have been learning what is a recipe and why it is important to follow them!!!!! Our second book has been created to help our new kindy kids know all about school. The K/P class has also been focusing on looking after our teeth, we have been brushing our teeth every day and learning why it is important to look after them.

The prep students have been working hard on their writing this term and are coming up with many wonderful ideas on how we can innovate on a fairy tale. In science we have been exploring different types of weather to discover how it can affect both animals and people. In Maths we have been looking at different types of measurement and using this to build a swing for a teddy. We have had to make sure that they it is heavy enough to stay still, long enough so it will swing and the seat big enough to fit the animal.
It has been a wonderful year together- we wish the best of luck to the preps who are moving into grade 1 and look forward to another great year together.
