On Friday 17th July, Aramac State School held the Small Schools Athletics Carnival. The competition was fierce - with Muttaburra SS joining in our Athletic events. The day started with a March Pass to 'Eye of the Tiger' and some Queen Classics, then War Cries - setting the tone for the Carnival. Throughout the day, students participated in running events such as the 200m, 80m/100m, 800m and field events including: discus, shotput, vortex/javelin, high jump and long jump.

This year Aramac won back the Small Schools Athletics trophy and Gidyea took out the Carnival, leaving Waratah determined to fight back at the coming Carnivals. Congratulations to the following students for receiving age champion on the day: Eli Alexander, Callem Bambling, Cooper Hay, Grace Bambling, Darby Coulton, Dean Alexander, Ebony Coulton, Dylan Rabnott and Ivy Curr.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the White bull Roadhouse for catering this event. I'd also like to thank Doug Churchill, Colin Jorgensen, Kevin Wills, Mrs Wills, Mrs Bambling, Miss Kinsey, Mrs T and Miss Trish for their endless support in preparing the fields prior to the carnival. Finally, I'd like to thank the teachers and support staff for helping out on the day. This Athletics Carnival was a great success because everyone lent a hand and worked together to provide our students with a top notch Carnival.
