Aramac State School offers an approved State Delivered Kindergarten Program integrated into our multi-age early years classroom (K – 2). Kindergarten is a structured, play-based program led by a university qualified teach for children in the year before they attend formal schooling.
The program which runs for at least 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per calendar year, focuses on helping children to develop a wide range of essential skills and prepares them for their transition to school. Currently we run a 5 day fortnight program, from 9am – 3pm. As Aramac State School is a western school and only completes a 9 week term in Term 4, we make up these kindergarten days across Term 4.
|Week 1 (Odd school weeks)||Wednesday and Thursday|
|Week 2 (Even school weeks)||Monday, Wednesday and Thursday|
Our school provides a nurturing, engaging and stimulating learning environment where our teachers understand the importance of the early years in helping children to develop and reach their full potential. We follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline
, which complements the National Early Years learning Framework
. This curriculum helps children develop a wide range of skills and gives them the best preparation for school and future learning.
Kindergarten children are involved in all aspects of our school. Parents are invited to join the P&C association and be involved in all school activities. Our Kindy children follow our Student Code of Conduct and are included in all school events.
What year should my child attend Kindy?
Your child must be at least 4 years of age by the 30th of June in the year in which they are enrolled to participate in a Queensland Government – subsidised Kindergarten program.
